If you’ve ever had a Frosted Lemonade from Chick-fil-A, you know how the creamy ice cream mixes with the tangy lemonade for a delightful treat, but what if it’s Sunday and Chick-fil-A is closed? And you want a Frosted Lemonade but without the inflammation from dairy and all the sugar that comes in Chick-fil-A milkshakes?
We’ve got a solution! Try making your own Frosted Lemonade this summer for a post-workout snack that will fill you up. This recipe is a guilt-free way to enjoy a thick, creamy drink that can be modified to meet your fitness goals.

This recipe simply contains frozen coconut milk, fresh organic lemon juice, and lemon zest. For this recipe we recommend getting canned lite coconut milk for the full creamy effect. You can usually find cans of coconut milk in the ethnic food aisle near curry ingredients. If you want the recipe to be more lemony, add more lemon juice and zest!
Lemon is especially great for digestion and provides a healthy dose of Vitamin C which is great for the skin and immunity. So freeze some coconut milk in cubes and enjoy this homemade Frosted Lemonade this summer!
Ingredients
1.5 cups canned Lite Coconut Milk (frozen in cubes)
1 juiced Organic Lemon (or more depending on desired tartness)
1 tbsp Lemon Zest
1 scoop TRU Vanilla Protein
Directions
- Shake the can of coconut milk and pour half of the can into an ice tray. Freeze for at least one hour, or overnight until the milk is solid.
- Thoroughly wash 1 lemon and zest the outside using a zester, vegetable peeler, box grater or knife.
- Add coconut milk cubes to your blender, squeeze in the juice from 1 lemon, add your lemon zest and TRU Natural Vanilla Cream Protein.
- Blend until creamy and smooth. If necessary to blend, add more lemon juice or a splash of unsweetened plant milk. For more lemony taste, squeeze more lemon juice and add more lemon zest.
