Most people love to enjoy their smoothies with fruit and milk, but there are many options for smoothie liquids that are more slimming and don’t include dairy, preservatives or gums that store-bought plant milk may contain. If you’re a big fan of creamy smoothies and want to continue making your protein shakes with dairy free milk, here’s a great hack for you:

Try blending 1 tbsp of unsalted almond butter with 2 to 3 cups of purified water and watch the magic that takes place. ✨ You’ll have creamy almond milk in seconds, without the need for a strainer or a messy nut milk mesh bag. It’s such an affordable, easy alternative to making your own plant-based milk! You can find more info and the exact recipe here.

Why not make your almond milk at the same time that you’re making your smoothie? Add your almond butter, water, protein powder, fruit and veggies to the blender and voila! You’ll have a creamy, deliciously satiating protein shake without any added preservatives, gums or unnatural ingredients. What a great way to fill your body with nutrients straight from the source! You can find the Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein used in this smoothie and all of our other decadent protein flavors here

For the frozen banana in this recipe, we recommend peeling a ripe banana, putting it in a ziplock bag or tupperware and freezing it for a few hours. This adds a chill to the smoothie and makes the texture nice and creamy.
